Early in-person voting for the Nov. 6 general election began on Monday. Voters will be at the county auditor’s office during business hours, until Nov. 5. The Johnson County Auditor’s Office is open Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Voters in Linn County have a slightly narrower window — its auditor’s office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Johnson County Auditor’s Office warns about misleading information on voting
The Johnson County Auditor’s Office warned on Tuesday that incorrect information about voting is being circulated. “Our office has received reports that voters have received absentee ballot requests which have incorrect return addresses,” the auditor’s office said in an email. “If you get an unsolicited absentee request by mail, make sure the return address is to the correct county auditor before mailing it in.

Iowa Secretary of State’s polling place locator is giving Iowa City voters incorrect information
The Johnson County Auditor’s Office warned on Monday that the polling place look-up tool on the Iowa State Secretary of State’s website has the outdated information for two Iowa City precincts. The voting locations in Precinct 13 and Precinct 18 were permanently moved last month, and the Sept. 4 primary in the special election for the Iowa City Council will be the first time voters use them.
