
Early in-person voting for the Nov. 6 general election began on Monday. Voters will be at the county auditor’s office during business hours, until Nov. 5. The Johnson County Auditor’s Office is open Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Voters in Linn County have a slightly narrower window — its auditor’s office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Both auditor’s offices will have extended hours on selected days. They will remain open until 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 29, Tuesday Oct. 30 and Thursday, Nov. 1.
There will also be special weekend hours for early voting. Both offices will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on two Saturdays, Oct. 27 and Nov. 3. The Johnson County Auditor’s office will also be open on two Sundays, Oct. 28 and Nov. 4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Both counties will open satellite voting locations, where anyone registered to vote in that county can vote early.

Voter ID requirements have not yet taken effect, so no ID will be required for in-person early voting.
Requests for absentee ballots mailed to the auditor’s office must be received by 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27. Completed ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by Monday, Nov. 5.
