Roast this town!

Join us October 13 at Trumpet Blossom Cafe for Little Village’s fourth annual roast of Iowa City, hosted by Yale Cohn. Like years previous, Roast This Town brings out the best in Iowa City by imploring its residents to dish out their worst. The event kicks off at 6 p.m. as part of the October 10-13 Iowa City Book Festival.

So, what to expect at this whiskey-soaked event? Cheers, jeers and other such revelry, of course. But it’s so much more than that! Our annual roast of Iowa City is a community-oriented event that, in its purest form, is a kind of exercise in group catharsis. Because as much as we love Iowa City, we think it’s healthy to take a few steps back and acknowledge that there is some wacky shit going on in this town.

So, will you do it? Will you join us on October 13 and take Iowa City (the Athens of the Midwest!) down a peg or two?

Check out this compilation from our 2011 roast to see what’s in store:
