Sanctuary Pub announces new ownership
Another fixture on the Iowa City scene is changing hands as 2017 draws to a close. On Sunday, Sanctuary Pub owner Daryl Woodson announced on Facebook that he is retiring from the S. Gilbert St. pub. Earlier this month, it was announced that a new owner is taking of Devotay at the beginning of the new year.

Devotay sold to new owner
Devotay, a fixture on the Iowa City food scene for more than two decades, has been sold, according to press release from Kurt Friese, the restaurant’s owner and “chef emeritus.” The change of ownership won’t take effect until New Year’s Eve, but Friese said he wanted to make the announcement on Dec. 5, because the day marks the 21st anniversary of the Devotay’s opening.

PiZan Pizza offers custom wood-fired pizza in minutes
After opening May 31 in the former Pita Pit location (113 Iowa Ave), PiZan Pizza has been cranking out custom-made wood-fired pizzas. The restaurant will be serving up pizzas for a late-night crowd and offering sustenance for Joe’s Place patrons as well.

Iowa City favorite Seoul Grill has extended hours of service
Seoul Grill is extending their hours of operation. The previously lunch-only Korean restaurant will now stay open from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturdays. The restaurant will be closed on Sundays.

Mami’s Authentic owners to close Iowa City location, open new restaurant on Burlington Street
The owners of Mami’s Authentic will close their current Iowa City location and open a new restaurant, Estella’s, sometime in late August or early September. The new Mexican food joint will be located at 184 E Burlington St, next to Zombie Burger and close to Mami’s current location at 221 S Gilbert St.
