Spring is here, so let’s have a party!

And how better to celebrate its arrival than dancing to some bouncy, danceable and life affirming beats and horns at a show that’s guaranteed to get you moving and smiling?

Fresh off the exhausting SXSW music festival circuit, the rapturous octet Rubblebucket returns to Iowa City to play Gabe’s on 3/21.

One of the best shows during last year’s Mission Creek Festival, the band is currently on a nationwide tour, this high energy, genre bending band is gearing up to release their first live CD/DVD, titled Live in Chicago, which was recorded last fall and features hits from the band’s critically acclaimed 2011 album Omega La La.

Listed as one of the 20 Best New Bands of 2011 by Paste Magazine, this Brooklyn-based group continues to gain a national following thanks to their great music and grueling touring schedule.

Doors open at 8, 19+ to attend, tickets are $10.00

Here’s some footage from their last show in Iowa City, and an interview with the band by Little Village contributor Yale Cohn:
