Ducktails Perform “Academy Avenue” – Live at LPRpitchforktv
Friday, April 1 at the Mill – 9:00 p.m.
Featuring: Gem Jones, Monopoly Child Star Searchers

Ducktails will be in town Friday, April 1 at the Mill for the Pre-Mission Creek Festival Party, presented by KRUI.  Initially created as a solo outlet by Real Estate’s Matt Mondanile, Ducktails has evolved into a collaborative project spanning three albums. Their latest record, The Flower Lane, was released last month and infuses their already well-established indie/surf-rock style with electric jazz and R&B.

@NeverBetterLABK I love The Flower Lane because it makes plants grow. #ducktailsCJSWMusic Department
The new album has reviewed considerably well, in fact. BBC Music wrote, “This album sees Mondanile opting for subtlety over showmanship. In choosing to do so he has created a work of insidious beauty: creeping, pervasive and better for it.”

Insidious beauty? The Mill? What’s not to like?
