The Divine Fits are coming to the Blue Moose Tap House on Friday, April 5. This supergroup encompasses Spoon‘s Britt Daniel, Wolf Parade‘s Dan Boeckner, and Sam Brown of the New Bomb Turks.

The Fits formed just last May and their debut record, “A Thing Called Divine Fits,” has been well-received by critics and fans alike, garnering a B+ rating from The Onion’s A.V. Club as well as positive marks from the New York Times, who noted that despite the group’s patchwork nature, the debut album feels like “a collection of shared songs, not the pile of individual wills.”

The Divine Fits have been booked to play at a few large summer music festivals including Bonnaroo and SXSW, so this will be a great chance for Iowa City patrons to catch them at a more personal, indoor venue. With that said, show up early, because this is sure to be one of the bigger shows of the 2013 Mission Creek Festival.
