Local guitarist and luthier Dustin Busch will open for Booker T. this Wednesday night at the Englert as part of the 2010 Mission Creek festival.
Busch plays regularly – solo and with Illinois John Fever – and you’ll catch him breaking it down informally all around town, semi-regularly on the patio at the Red Avocado, or in the parking lot near 30th Century Bike, or stepping in to play with Joe Price at Georges, as pictured above.
If you’ve ever seen him play, you know that his skills are formidable. Back porches and parking lots are romantic places to enjoy these tunes, but occasionally one wishes to hear him somewhere that really does justice to the intricate range of sounds Dusty gets out of a guitar. Such will be the case at the Englert next Friday, and such was the case when Dustin Busch opened for Ben Schmidt at CSPS on February 6, 2010.
