I wholeheartedly support V Fixmer-Oraiz in the Democratic primary for County Supervisor in District 4. I see V as a forward-looking candidate with the ability to bring about positive change with thoughtfulness, clarity and creativity. Indeed, they are already doing so. With education and experience in community and environmental planning, they’re a tremendous asset to Johnson County. V puts their values into action on a personal level, in their work and business, in service to our community as a part of it, and as a county supervisor.

I have worked with V on environmental issues and have long been impressed by their openness and positive approach to making change. The work of their firm Astig Planning has included historic preservation projects, highly regarded flood resilience action planning, watershed projects throughout the state, and campus safety planning at the University of Iowa. It is worth looking at Astig’s website for pure enjoyment. The kinds of projects described there, the collaborative approaches and the inclusiveness leave me feeling hopeful.

I couldn’t be prouder to endorse V Fixmer-Oraiz in this primary election for County Supervisor. Thanks to all our friends, who work so hard on behalf of our families and neighborhoods. I’ll be out canvassing over the weekend.  It has been fun and heartening to connect with so many likeminded people in our community! Please join me in voting for V Fixmer-Oraiz.
