Submitted on behalf of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) at UIHC

SEIU at UIHC is proud to unanimously endorse Mandi. Admittedly, we did not find her opponent’s platform to have any serious problems. However, what made Mandi a clear choice for us was that we wish to retain a strong ally as a county supervisor who has consistently and clearly demonstrated a commitment to uphold and advance the values that matter to all working people.

As former UIHC union staff herself, Mandi shares a special relationship with SEIU. She has seen firsthand and personally experienced the desperate challenges UIHC staff faces. Every time SEIU workers have needed support from the community and elected officials, Mandi has actively made an effort to stand with them and move resources that she, in her capacity as a long-time community organizer, can.

Mandi is tireless in her willingness to take innovative progressive initiatives. She has proven that when she wants to get something done, she will go the extra mile. Last summer she travelled nationally to secure a grant for her field mediation program. She made another trip last week to learn about how local governments can pushback against federal measures which their constituents do not support.

Anyone interested in working class politics can speak at length about how Mandi fits the bill. She is a loyal ally who we can rely on and trust that she will continue to advance the interests of the community as a whole and not look the other way on the most marginalized in the community.
