Mandi Remington is a Johnson County leader for our time. During her first term as County Supervisor, Mandi has consistently reached into the community to bring more voices into critical decisions.

Mandi uses her background in community organizing to take a holistic approach to governing. Mandi understands that we must work to break down silos. She knows that isolation makes us weaker. She is willing to question the status quo and consider new ideas.

Mandi also stays above the fray. Sheโ€™s been able to keep working diligently for her constituents, despite the frequent drama on the dais.

Mandi is a quick learner, and sheโ€™s constantly connecting with others around the country who face challenges similar to ours.

In our decades as public servants, we know that leaders who set their egos aside to work for the greater good are the most effective. Mandi leads from her values, not for clout.

District 5 residents should vote for Mandi Remington on or before June 2 for Johnson County Supervisor.

Laura Bergus serves on the Iowa City Council.
