It’s a Wonderful Death
Cedar Ridge Winery – Saturday, December 21 at 6 p.m. ($50)
You know George Bailey, the (temporarily) suicidal protagonist from It’s a Wonderful Life, but did you hear about his suicidal-yet-potentially-homicidal side? It’s true, Bailey is out to straight-up murder somebody, or at least, he might be according to Cedar Ridge Winery.
This Saturday, the winery and distillery is hosting “It’s a Wonderful Death,” a sort of dinner-meets-murder mystery event organized alongside St. Louis-based Upstage Productions.
Guests who make the trip to Swisher, Iowa for this ominous holiday celebration will be treated to a three course dinner — one course between each act — whereupon a crazed Bailey will, presumably, satiate his appetite for killing things.
“Only Clarence the guardian angel can help us now,” the winery states. Good god!
Between acts, guests can expect a plated seasonal salad, a marinated chicken and prime rib buffet, as well as a plated desert. Festivities kick off at 6 p.m., with tickets available in advance via the Cedar Ridge Winery.
