Ex-Action Model, The Binary Marketing Show, Dream Thieves, Chaircrusher @ Blue Moose 2011-08-04

It’s me, Kent Williams, your Little Village Arts & Entertainment Editor. When I’m not trying to come up with Le Mot Juste to describe local music CDs, I make music of my own under the regrettable moniker Chaircrusher. I got to play live Thursday at the Blue Moose Tap House, opening for Dream Thieves, Binary Marketing Show, and Ex-Action Model.

As someone who performed, is friends with Ex-Action Model (aka Brendan Hanks), has reviewed Dream Thieves for this publication, I’m not an impartial observer of this event. But, in my un-impartial opinion, the other people on the bill were all extraordinary. Dream Thieves’ dance pop combines great songs with beautifully layered arrangements. The Binary Marketing Show, who stole my heart at Mission Creek were as original, crazy, and lovely as ever. And Ex-Action Model can make his laptop rock.

It was a lightly attended event, and it’s bad form to complain about turnout. But I’m sorry more people couldn’t have seen and heard this show. This post at least addresses the ‘hear’ part. Thanks to Doug Roberson at the Bar, Brad at the sound board, and Sam Locke Ward for rescuing my audio recorder when I left it in the venue over night.
