This week on Little Village Live, local favorite Samuel Locke Ward played a full set and, as it turns out, we’re still picking up jaws off the floor. This episode marked Ward’s second appearance on the show, having played a unique set back in April 2010 consisting of two 20-minute chunks of non-stop acoustic rock.

Ward opted for a different approach this week, bringing up the energy in a performance more reminiscent of the nights I’ve seen him thrashing on stage with The Boo Hoos. Needless to say, this hour-long broadcast was a treat.

Make sure to check out video of his performance below. As always, you can find more video from this performance and hundreds of others on the Little Village Youtube Channel. We’re fast approaching the 500 video milestone, featuring a slew of footage from local festivals, performances and much more from the Iowa City area.

Little Village Live, hosted by Matt Steele and Lisa Stark, broadcasts from Public Space One every Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. โ€“ 6:00 p.m. on KRUI 89.7 FM. Shows are open to the public and free to attend. Snacks and refreshments are provided by the New Pioneer Coop, so join us for some free music, free company and free refreshments.

As always, Little Village Live can be streamed live online for those without a radio handy.
