Woody’s Show Club — April 1 at 7 p.m.

Bridging the divide between comedy club and strip club, The Dirty Flirty Show brings a night of provocative stand up and entertainment to Woody’s Show Club tonight at 7 p.m. The show is headlined by adult film star turned comedian Rebecca Bardoux.

“We met while doing a comedy show at the Hustler Club when I was performing in Vegas a while back and we connected right away,” said comedian Tom Garland, a producer of The Dirty Flirty Show and one of its featured stand-up acts. “I’ve already learned a lot from her. It takes a lot of smarts to stay in the business that long.”

According to Garland, comedians often find themselves mixed in with other entertainment acts in Las Vegas, including adult entertainment, and his experiences performing there inspired him to try out something similar in Iowa.

“There’s a lot of different shows there that incorporate comedy with burlesque, dancers, magic or other entertainment,” said Garland. “The smaller Vegas strip and off-strip efforts often incorporate tons of different acts to keep people interested and coming back.”

Bardoux performs comedy regularly in Las Vegas. This January at Las Vegas’s Sapphire Club she hosted “Carnal Comedy,” a large showcase of comedians trading anecdotes with adult performs called.

Garland appreciates Bardoux for offering a unique perspective and bringing something different to comedy, and hopes that she, along with mix of strip club setting and the show’s diverse lineup of Iowa comics, will pique enough interest to to make a Las Vegas comedy format work in Iowa.

“Expect to see something you’ve never seen. It’s going to be so wild you’re going to forget its a Wednesday.”
