National Weather Service predicts major winter storm, schools close in Johnson and Linn counties, North Liberty bans on-street parking (Updated)
Early Friday morning, the National Weather Service office in the Quad Cities issued a winter storm warning for 18 eastern Iowa counties, including Johnson and Linn. Inches of snow and ice, as well as sleet, wind and visibility issues, are expected across Eastern Iowa, leading to school and street closures.
On-street parking prohibited in North Liberty starting at noon on Friday
In response to a Winter Storm Warning issued early Friday morning by the National Weather Service (NWS), the city of North Liberty has issued a snow emergency declaration that bans on-street parking. The prohibition takes effect at noon on Friday, and is scheduled to last until noon on Sunday.
