Little Village Magazine’s Second Annual Roast of Iowa City had well over 200 people packed into The Mill and laughing it up for an hour as every last one of Iowa City’s sacred cows were gutted and cooked, every tender scab picked at, and every one of our town’s beloved “quirks” exposed as the grand mal neuroses they really are.

Watch Shipbuilding Co. at The Yacht Club

Shipbuilding Co. stopped by The Yacht Club this weekend to play us some songs, and we have some lovely video to share. The Indie rock group played the final set of the night after local group Shame Train finished up a set of their own, and although Iowa City was experiencing flood-like conditions at the time, a host of music fans were in attendance to welcome our friends from the West.

Watch Little Village's Second Annual Roast of Iowa City

The second annual roast of Iowa City was a terrific success, and we’d like to thank all of you for making it out to The Mill this Sunday to help us heckle, badger, tease and torment this little Midwestern city of ours. We’d also like to thank those of you who submitted your red-hot roasts to Little Village for review. It goes without saying that these events just wouldn’t be possible without this kind of community support.
