Kim Reynolds issued a statement, which included the line, “We are angry that a broken immigration system allowed a predator like this to live in our community.” On Thursday, Reynolds was asked about her statement, and she replied, “I didn’t immediately start talking about immigration.”

Hundreds march in Iowa City for the Families Belong Together rally

Protesters will gather in Cedar Rapids to push for the reunification of migrant families
On Saturday, there will be rallies protesting in more than 620 cities across the country, including Iowa City and Cedar Rapids, to protest the Trump administration treatment of migrants arriving at the U.S. border with Mexico.
