Grupo Fantasma will be appearing at the Mill this coming Wednesday Night, and if you have any love at all for the dance music of Latin America, you are commanded to attend.
With members from all over the Southlands (from Texas to Nicaragua), Grupo Fantasma fuse musical styles from all over the Hispanic New World, from Cumbia to Salsa to Tropicalia. Their sound will be instantly accessible to fans of Euforquestra‘s Afro-Cuban work, but Grupo Fantasma sings exclusively in Spanish, and stays closer to the popular music of Mexico and Central America. At the same time they’re definitely an American band — they can really rock!
The chance to see GF at a venue as cosy as The Mill is rare — usually they hit bigger venues like Bonaroo and the New Orleans Jazz Festival.
