Head for the Hills did an early evening show for Little Village Live before performing at the Yacht Club later that night. I couldn’t make the late show, so I swung in, with my mom in tow, to catch these talented performers. These four bluegrass musicians are presently promoting their sophomore self-titled album on their String Ahead Tour, which includes a stop at SXSW before they head to the west coast. Composed of mandolin, guitar, bass and violin, Head for the Hills’ sound is true to traditional bluegrass, but with a fresh modern feel to it. Their music is upbeat, infectious and clear evidence that these are some exceptional fellas. Even my mom dug the show. Check out the vids from the Little Village Live show here.
