Titus Andronicus, Lost Boy and The Olympics stopped by Gabe’s last weekend for an intense night of punk rock and general rabble-rousing. Below you’ll find photos featuring Lost Boy and Titus Andronicus, specifically (a scheduling conflict led me to miss The Olympics’ set, unfortunately).
Lost Boy offered up solid guitar-driven punk, while Titus Andronicus played a few songs off each album and a couple of brand new songs to boot. Ending the show with full on guitar mayhem, Titus Andronicus showed that although the group is bursting with technical skill, they’re not afraid to back up talent with a bit of showmanship. At one point, in fact, frontman Patrick Stickles ripped most of the strings off his guitar and then shoved the instrument into the rafters. It was a good show.

The front man of TA sat and called much of his audience bros, insulting them for paying 12 bucks to see them play, and for boorish concert behavior, (although I agreed initially) continued to piss and moan throughout the entire set, until it was as regularly coming as the songs. A band I was willing to watch, turned into several visits to the beer garden.
Lost Boy was really, really cool though.
He did sit on the balcony for part of one song while he had a smoke. To my recollection he yelled at one specific person, twice. Thanking him for the support and the $12, but instructing him to stop causing trouble. Eventually shaming him to the back of the room or potentially out of the venue.
Yea, Lost Boy was really cool.
TA’s front man was definetly one of the most rude to come through IC…
