Photos: Seventh annual Roast of Iowa City

Local residents gathered at Trumpet Blossom Cafe on Sunday to wrap up the Iowa City Book Festival with the Little Village’s seventh annual Roast of Iowa City. Local writers and comedians took to the stage to poke fun at the city they love, or at least tolerate.

Most of the jokes and stories took on the University of Iowa or the city’s bar culture, but several performers also used their stage time to tackle the heavier subjects like race relations and the current political climate.
