The University of Iowa celebrated its homecoming last week, and the Hawkeye football team faced the Northwestern Wildcats at Kinnick Stadium. The Hawkeyes trailed the Wildcats for most of the first half, but took the lead on a pass to Riley McCarron just before halftime. The Hawkeyes then extended their lead to 24-17 with a Keith Duncan field goal. The Wildcats went on to score three unanswered touchdowns, and the Hawkeyes wouldn’t find the end zone again until LeShun Daniels Jr. carried the ball into it with 8:10 left in the game. The Hawkeyes fell to the Wildcats 38-31, leaving them with a record of 3-2 going into their game against Minnesota on Oct. 8.
