Legendary sludge metal duo Jucifer shook the walls of Gabe’s in Iowa City on Friday, filling the stage with their signature wall of amps and massive drums. Jucifer’s set is an experience, there is no on stage banter, no tuning breaks, not a moment is wasted. Once husband and wife duo Gazelle Amber Valentine and Edgar Livengood start playing there is no break in the music until they take their final bows. Each performance is one cohesive piece blending tracks from their seven full length albums and improvisation, with styles ranging from thrash to droning doom metal.

It was a night full of solid heavy music, with local thrash duo In The Mouth Of Radness kicking off the evening and guitar-less metal wizards Acoustic Guillotine rounding out the bill.
