It was a Monday after a crazy weekend in Iowa City and the turnout wasn’t great at the Blue Moose. Only a handful of people showed up to see Astronautalis and Oxymorrons, but those people got one hell of a show. When alternative hip hop five-piece Oxymorrons took the stage everyone was seated or standing in the back; by the end of their set the entire crowd was up front and engaged. Astronautalis hit the stage with plenty of energy despite the small turnout. He acknowledged and embraced the small crowd immediately after slamming through a couple tracks. At various points in the show he went off mic and left the stage to jump around with the crowd. Such a spare turnout could have sunk a lot of bands, but Oxymorrons and Astronautalis turned it into a killer intimate show.
