Just in time for Halloween, MC Chris, a staple of the nerdcore rap scene, swings through Gabe’s once again this Friday, Oct. 17 at 8 p.m. for his national Ghost Hunter Tour with MC Lars and Spose.

One of the best things about MC Chis? His music is fun. The nerdcore rapper’s latest album “foreverrr” is a spooky, ghost-themed two-disc compilation of songs like “I’m a Fucking Wizard” and “Where the Ghosts At?” with quick-witted, nerdy lyrics and dancey beats to get you moving.

Fans can even get into the Halloween spirit a bit early with a costume contest during the show. The winner at each stop along the tour route gets their picture on MC Chris’s blog and at the end of the tour, the artist will choose one overall winner to receive a $2,600 proton pack (a la Ghostbusters) complete with lights and sounds.

Two more rappers will join the artist; MC Lars self-describes as “post-punk laptop rap,” and had some commercial success with his song “iGeneration.” Spose became internet-famous when his 2010 song “I’m Awesome” went viral, peaking at #37 on Billboard’s top 100.
