BOOKER T.
Booker T., of Booker T. and the M.G.s, is a prominent soul musician and pianist well-renowned since the 1960s. His band’s single, Green Onions, reached the top of the R&B charts in 1962.

Molly Ringwald is a local band with a style and vocal pitch reminiscent of The Pixies. This is, indeed, a good thing.

David Zollo has been releasing albums for the better part of 20 years and with good reason. His gravelly vocals backed by light pianistic melodies offers a nice contrast for those who have the fortune of seeing him perform.

For those who’ve come across the Soundscapes music channel, lost somewhere among the wretches of digital cable, Tim Hecker is the antithesis. Come Friday, he will give us all a lesson in ambient music.

The GGlitch’s ability to blend genre, shifting from jam band to folk rockers and beyond, leads me to suggest you check out the link below. This Iowa City-based rock band has been together for over a decade.

GREG BROWN
Fellow Iowan and Grammy Award Nominee Greg Brown will serenade The Englert as the venue’s last headliner of the festival. One of Iowa’s best talents, acoustic or otherwise, Brown has recorded more than a dozen albums.

CAMERA OBSCURA
The Glasgow, Scotland-based Camera Obscura will pay a visit to The Blue Moose Tap House Saturday. Their twangy brand of indie pop has garnered much praise since hitting the U.S. in 2004.

ANNI ROSSI
Working the violin in such a way as to make Andrew Bird proud, the classically trained indie-pop artist Anni Rossi headlines Public Space One’s final show of the festival.

CORY CHISEL AND THE WANDERING SONS
Exuding the kind of pre-pop soulful American heartland ballads that had fans lining up throughout the latter 20th century, there’s a certain purity to this group that’s anymore uncommon.

GRANT HART
Grant Hart, formerly of Hüsker Dü and Nova Mob, has been an explorer of vintage rock since pursuing his solo career in 1997, more apt to pick up a harmonica and acoustic guitar than a distortion pedal.
