Local comics form a veritable Voltron of laughs this Saturday at The Mill

The Comedy Coalition, a regional performance group that promises to make your “pants tingle,” takes the stage this Saturday at the Mill, featuring comedians Donny Townsend, Daniel Frana, Martin Lathrop, Mike Lucas, Mitch Banks, and Andrew Jones.

While the all-Iowan comedy sextet covers a diverse range of styles, the comedians complement each other well. Lucas gets audiences going with his searing one-liners, while Lathrop makes crowds guffaw with his depraved view of the world. The show’s ability to alternate between family-friendly and inviting to the raucous and profane keeps their performances fresh.

The bottom line of a Comedy Coalition show, says Townsend, is that they are fast-paced, and a lot of fun. “We all bring different perspectives and talents to the table,” he said. “So I like to be in the audience as much as being on the stage.”
