Local and real foods short film fest Sunday at FilmScene

Real Food Films contest finalists

FilmScene — Sunday, June 5, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Finalists from the 2016 Real Foods Films Contest, chosen from 160 entries and all under four minutes, will be screened on Sunday at FilmScene in Iowa City.

The program, A Real Food For All Pop-Up Film Festival, presented by Local Foods Connection (LCF), features 45 minutes of short films focused on food and farming followed by a community dialogue about local farming and food accessibility.

All films were picked as finalists in the 2016 Real Foods Films Contest, produced by Real Food Media, a collaborative project directed by author and food educator Anna Lappé. A range of works, including video poems, advocacy and documentaries, were selected from 160 entries for this touring collection of food films.

RSVP for the event by emailing LCF or visiting their Facebook event page.
