Beginning Thursday, June 9, Lion Bridge Brewery of Cedar Rapids will host an evening farmers market, set for every other Thursday. The brewery’s liquor license has been extended to include the location of the market so that market-goers can enjoy a draft while they shop. There are also plans for an extended patio, event stage for live music and full bocce court. The market will feature groceries and consumables from vendors such as Bass Farms, Ebert Honey, Mushroom Mills, and The Local Crumb of Mount Vernon.
“We hope to extend the market to include as many as 15 vendors,” said Lion Bridge owner Quinton McClain. McClain also mentioned that the brewery’s kitchen would be open during market hours, offering sandwiches and appetizers.
The Lion Bridge farmers market will take place every other Thursday into September. The market will coincide with NewBo City Market’s Meet Me at the Market night.
At the inaugural market, Bass Farms will offer free organic eggs to the first 50 visitors.
