Terry Gilliam, director of cult-classic films such as Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Fisher King, 12 Monkeys and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is visiting Iowa City for a lecture and reception. Gilliam is appearing as part of The Obermann Center’s Symposium, “Don Quixote in the Age of Electronic Reproduction.”

The University of Iowa Lecture Committee will present “In Conversation with Terry Gilliam,” a free event set for October 23rd at 7:30 p.m. in the IMU Ballroom. Before the lecture, FilmScene will host a reception and a gala event to honor Gilliam at 5 p.m. at Hotel Vetro. The intimate reception, with remarks by Gilliam, will include food from sponsor Motley Cow Cafe, drinks and reserved seating at the lecture. Tickets for the reception are $100 and can be purchased at FilmScene.
