Diarrhea Planet w. Rational Anthem and Warren Terror
Gabe’s — Tuesday, April 21 at 9 p.m.
Bring an extra pair of pants to Gabe’s tonight because you will no doubt lose your shit to the four-guitar mayhem of power-punk Nashville band Diarrhea Planet. The six-piece rock band formed back in 2009 when Jordan Smith, Evan Donohue and Casey Weissbuch wanted to stick it to the man, aka move away from the rigid environment of Belmont University. The three students added a couple more members and quickly recorded their debut EP Aloha, noted for its fast-paced songs and a strong knack for lyricism.
After their first EP gained over 10,000 downloads, the group has steadily alternated between hitting the studio and the road, accruing a wide fan base for their fun but furious brand of rock and roll. On last year’s five-song EP Aliens in the Outfield, they continue to melt faces with their more relaxed format, storytelling lyrics and impressive hooks.
Joining Diarrhea Planet are local bands Rational Anthem, a conglomeration of punk-poppy goodness, and art punk trio Warren Terror.
