Comedian Chris D’Elia just wants to make you laugh this Friday, is that so wrong?

It’s about that time for Hawkeye students. One more weekend before the dreaded finals week. Do you stay in this weekend, and get a headstart on studying? Or go out, for one last hurrah?

You should go out. Specifically, you should go see Chris D’Elia’s stand-up comedy at the IMU Main Lounge Friday at 10 p.m.

D’Elia may not be a megastar in the comedy realm just yet, but he’s on his way. He is best known as starring opposite of fellow stand-up comic Whitney Cummings in her short-lived NBC sitcom Whitney, from 2011-2013. Despite the show’s cancellation, Comedy Central saw fit to give D’Elia his first one hour stand-up special last December, subsequently launching him into Variety’s “Top 10 Comics to Watch.” His next venture, a starring role in the upcoming NBC sitcom Undateable, will premiere at the end of this month.

Take a look at his bit on the rapper Drake, for starters:

This show is presented by the Campus Activities Board. Tickets can be bought at the IMU box office at $7 for the public and $5 for UI students, or purchased online for $8.90.
