The Cedar Rapids Police Department is investigating a fatal stabbing incident this morning that left an 18-year-old man dead.
Police officers responded to a call around 2 a.m. at 6725 College Park Court SW, according to a press release. Emergency medical care was initiated at the scene and the victim was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. He was pronounced dead about an hour later.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing. Several individuals have been brought to the Cedar Rapids Police Department for questioning.
An autopsy will be conducted by the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner. Police are not currently releasing the name of the victim pending notification of family members.
