BREAKING: LV Dance Party Friday, July 15 Moves to Blue Moose

Due to scheduling conflicts that arose with joining forces with Studio 13 and the Yacht Club for the Heaven & Hell Event , we’ve done a last-minute venue switch to the Blue Moose Tap House around the corner. This means it’s a great night for Dance Music in Iowa City. The Heaven & Hell Event at the Yacht Club will go on as originally scheduled, and we will take over the upstairs bar at the Blue Moose Tap House.

Little Village 10th Anniversary Celebration Dance Music Blowout
The Blue Moose Tap House July 15, 2011 9:00 PM
Featuring David Powers & Max Jacobson (CHICAGO/Klectik)
Special 3 Hour Tag Team Set
Chaircrusher (aka Kent Williams Little Village A&E Editor)
Age Restriction: 21+ NO COVER CHARGE

Free? How can we do it? It’s a family affair. Max and Dave are friends of mine from Chicago, whose musical talents as producers are beginning to make some waves in the house music scene. David is one of the best all around musicians I know, who in addition to his work producing dance music has performed in Chicago with his jazz trio, played classical recitals, and once was part of the house band on a Caribbean cruise ship. So whatever he does is informed by his deep musicality. His friend and production collaborator Max Jacobson shares with David a love of all things Deep in House Music. If you’ve ever listened to (or danced to) House Music you know that going deep means getting sweaty, making some moves, and grinning like a mad fool

So this will NOT be 5 hours of repetitive Oontz Oontz techno — we aim to take you on a musical Journey. And we’re rolling old school — all vinyl all night, and we’re bringing in DJ Miche’ Technics 1200s from the legendary 620 Club.

Chaircrusher (that’s me! A&E Editor of your Little Village Magazine) will start the night off with a selection of old school disco, 80s dance pop, and whatever craziness he can make fit.

So this is a party we’re doing for the love, and we hope you’ll come and have a drink and celebrate 10 years of Little Village magazine with us again!
