Gabe’s is hosting an “Acoustic Cage Match” this Saturday with ten performers squaring off for a shot at (fleeting) glory. Who decides the winner? You do, of course! It’s democracy in action.
Attendees receive one ballot after paying the $3 entry charge, with one additional ballot awarded for each drink purchased.
Is this borderline irresponsible? Nah, don’t be such a square, Daddy-O! This is absolutely brilliant.
Gabe’s will hand out more than $250 in prizes throughout the night, with first and second place receiving $100 and $50, respectively. Each performer will have 25 minutes to demonstrate their acoustic prowess and, if they’re smart, encourage excessive amounts of binge drinking to win over all those lushes in the crowd.
The show kicks off this Saturday at 7 p.m., so gird your livers, slam some of that Pepto-Bismol and head on down to Gabe’s to get your acoustic groove on. This is an all-ages show (oddly enough) that switches over to 19+ after 10 p.m.
No word on whether or not Gabe’s will award ballots for Diet Cokes.
