The 80/35 Music Festival released a portion of its 2014 lineup yesterday, unveiling the names of more than 20 participating bands and musicians. Indie-darling Conor Oberst, best known as the frontman for Bright Eyes, tops the list alongside Best Coast, Ziggy Marley, Dr. Dog and Dawes.
Now in its seventh year, the 80/34 Music Festival takes place July 4-5 at downtown Des Moines’ Western Gateway Park.
Oberst will headline the first day of the festival, officials said, though the second day headliner is still under wraps. In fact, this week’s announcement mentions only 21 of the nearly 50 performances scheduled to take place this year, so expect continued updates.
Last year’s headliners included the Wu-Tang Clan, David Byrne and St. Vincent.
Spanning three stages, the annual 80/35 Music Festival is organized by the Greater Des Moines Music Coalition and presented by U.S. Celluar. Two-day tickets are currently available for $49, with one-day tickets available for $29. More ticket information is available via Midwestix.
