UPDATED: 13-year-old girl killed in Cedar Rapids shooting

Cedar Rapids police identified the 13-year-old girl as Ireshia Parks, according to a Wednesday press release. The State Medical Examiner in Ankeny is expected to perform an autopsy.

The three male suspects who were taken into custody on Tuesday were charged.

A 13-year old juvenile was charged with involuntary manslaughter, carrying weapons and interference with official acts.

Dquon Morrow, 18, of Cedar Rapids, and a 15-year-old juvenile were charged with interference with official acts.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

A 13-year-old girl was fatally shot and three suspects arrested in southeast Cedar Rapids Tuesday morning.

The girl was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, where she was pronounced dead, according to a press release.

The Cedar Rapids Police Department received a report of a shooting in the 800 block of 15th Street SE just before 8 a.m. When officers responded, they found three males running. Two juveniles and a young adult were taken into custody a few blocks to the north in the 1500 blocks of Bever Avenue SE and Washington Avenue SE.

Police believe that those involved in the shooting are in custody and there is no present danger to the public.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing. Police have not yet released the names of the victim, or those of the suspects in custody.
