On Thursday, Dec. 12, The Gift of Gab, Lateef the Truthspeaker and the Blackalicious crew warmed up Gabe’s with their Nia 20th Anniversary celebration tour. The show originally scheduled for August was canceled due to illness, but they braved the cold to return to Iowa City and put on a great performance — even hinting that they’d be sticking around town an extra day to dig in the crates at Record Collector, on the hunt for local music to use in their next beat.
