To be blunt, The Wherehouse isn’t the most accessible venue in Iowa City. However, tucked back near the 700 block of South Dubuque Street in a rather unassuming building, the locale has held consistently phenomenal music events month after month. As the following video clips will attest, last night was no exception. Before we get to that, however, I’d just like to extend a personal invitation to all those who’ve perhaps shied away from this unique, eclectic venue. Pay them a visit, and support Iowa City’s diverse music scene.

With that said, lets get to the music, shall we? First up we have Sweden’s Skull Defekts, the evening’s headliners. Breaking out their minimalist brand of industrial, repetition-based rock, the group is accompanied by former Lungfish frontman Daniel Higgs. It was, simply put, a treat.
