The Trumpet Blossom Cafe is celebrating it’s second anniversary this Saturday with food and drinks, hugs and high-fives and, of course, a ton of live music. The celebration, and the music, starts at 11 a.m. and continues until midnight. With Record Store Day at Record Collector just across town, this event will be a great way to round out a big day for music in Iowa City.
The Trumpet Blossom has quickly become one of the best venues in town, with an intimate and cozy vibe that welcomes artists of all styles. This past year, the restaurant hosted nationally touring acts like Dustin Wong and Speedy Ortiz, as well as local and regional acts like William Elliott Whitmore and Teaadora.
The line-up for Saturday’s show highlights some classic Iowa City acts, with Milk & Eggs, Douglas Kramer Nye, Seth Wenger & Dustin Busch, Brooks Strause, Pete Balestrieri, Rusty Buckets, Joe Heuermann, and In the Mouth of Radness all taking the stage. Money Badger, a post-punk band from Wichita in town to record at Flat Black Studios, will also be playing.
