“The Second Act has been in business for 26 years and is Iowa City’s longest operating consignment store. Our mission is to be a dependable source of quality used clothing for individuals and families, and to provide friendly and helpful assistance to our customers.
We began in 1985 with a one room store front of casual, business and dressy clothing as well as interesting vintage and ethnic pieces which over time we began putting together as costume ideas. After a few years, we relocated to a larger building. By tripling our floor space, we had more room to display the increasing amount of traditional apparel being brought in by consigners, and also have four rooms for vintage, ethnic, and costume clothing and accessories.
We have seven people who know our current inventory well and love helping people find the sizes and styles they desire. We’ve also become experts at helping people put together creative costumes. Above all, the Second Act is about having fun finding your own unique look!” –via The Second Act
