In a startling reveal, Playboy magazine, the country’s number one source for photos of nude women still printed on paper, announced today that the University of Iowa is ranked fifth on its 2014 list of top party schools (link is surprisingly SFW).

The article, which was compiled from Google search results circa 2007, says Iowa City’s nightlife scene is off the chain thanks to “most bars and clubs allowing entry to students over the age of 19.” Top party zones include The Mill, which, there’s something funny about Playboy citing The Mill as a contributing factor to the UI’s “top party school” status, though I can’t quite put my finger on it. Also, Playboy gives the UI kudos because the weather in Iowa City can be pretty shitty.

The section finishes with a reference to “house parties on the prairie” after 10 p.m., which actually sounds quite romantic! Check out the UI’s call-out below:

5) UNIVERSITY OF IOWA

Raising the bar

Hawkeyes’ commitment to partying is evident in their willingness to brave inhumane circumstances: shatteringly cold winters, then sweltering humidity come warm weather. Iowa City’s nightlife scene remains a balmy constant, though, with most bars and clubs allowing entry to students over the age of 19. Regular spots include the Mill, the Summit and Sports Column, but after 10 P.M. house parties on the prairie are the place to be for committed Midwestern party hounds.
