Don’t put away your lederhosen and dirndl’s just yet. The Amana Colonies’ annual Oktoberfest, complete with singing, dancing, games and lots of beer drinking, is this weekend.
The fun begins on Friday with the traditional keg tapping at 2 p.m. in the Festhalle. Festivities are planned all weekend throughout the community, but the Festhalle is home to the Bavarian-style Oktoberfest with lots of polka music and massive mugs of Märzen. A one-day pass is $10 and a two-day pass is $15. Bring your own mug or buy one at the festival!
