The first poll in the 2018 Iowa governor’s race shows Democrat Fred Hubbell leading Republican incumbent Gov. Kim Reynolds. On Monday, Emerson College released polling data on the governor’s race, the races in all four Iowa Congressional districts and Iowan’s views of President Trump.

Hike for Healthcare: Protesting Republican attempts to kill the Affordable Care Act
Political activists and other Iowans upset about Republican health care policies will be gathering in Cedar Rapids at noon for the Hike for Healthcare. At the same time protesters in Cedar Rapids are marching the half-mile from the corner to 8th Ave and 2nd Street, SE, to Rep. Rod Blum’s office, there will also be protests at Blum’s offices in Cedar Falls and Dubuque, as well as at Rep. David Young’s Des Moines office.

Iowans disapprove of Trump, but Iowa Republicans in Congress keep voting for his policies
A majority of Iowans disapproved of President Trump’s actions during his first year in office, according to a new analysis by Gallup. But that didn’t stop any of the Republicans who represent the state in Congress from voting with Trump more than 90 percent of the time.
