Family Video is closing
Iowa City is losing its last video store. Family Video is closing. According to a sign on the posted on the door of its Hwy. 1 store:
“Unfortunately this location will be closing. From 1/28 – 2/11 we will only be open from 12-8 and we will be liquidating our entire inventory by having a massive movie and game sale. ”

Root, the organic cosmetics store, is closing its Iowa City location
Root, the Iowa-based organic beauty supply company, is closing its Iowa City store on the Ped Mall. “We want to thank all of our Iowa City customers & also our hardworking staff for a fun year,” the company wrote on its Facebook page.
