Poll: Iowa Democrats want a candidate who favors the Green New Deal and other strong progressive policies

Iowa Democrats overwhelming favor strong progressive policies, according to a new poll published by the Des Moines Register on Saturday. The Iowa Poll found 91 percent of respondents want a candidate who supports the Green New Deal, with 65 percent preferring a quick implementation of those environmental policies rather than doing it in steps.

Bernie Sanders will speak at the Iowa CCI Action Fund convention on Saturday

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders will be the keynote speaker at the Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement Action Fund (CCI Action Fund) annual convention at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines on Saturday. This year’s theme is “Revolution Iowa: From Protest to Power,” and the convention will feature workshops on organizing and building successful movements to put “people before profits, communities before corporations.”

Bernie Sanders coming to Iowa City Monday

Sen. Bernie Sanders will hit three Iowa towns on Monday, including Iowa City, to stump for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
