Show Photos: The Coathangers and Slut River at Wherehouse, Nov. 7

Shame on me. I have shots from half of this show. The official lineup included Wax Canon and the Boxknifes, but I just couldn’t get my tail down to the Wherehouse fast enough. To those bands, my sincerest regrets for not digitally capturing your performance.  As far as what I DID see….well done. How can you not love the Coathangers? –  four hot, tattooed, screaming girls playing loud and hard. If you don’t know them, you should google them now. I had not heard of them before yesterday and I am kinda pissed that no one clued me in sooner. Their high-paced, rowdy set was the perfect addition to my lazy Sunday. They were closely followed by Slut River, who made my ears ring in the best possible way. Imagine punk music with the solid foundation of some classic blues riffs and alotta attitude. Slut River is another amazing  product of the works of Joe Ross and Brad Highnam…joined by two amazing chicks on vocals and drums. I don’t know who they are, but I am making it important business to find out.  As a result of this show, I couldn’t hear a damn thing in my morning class…but who cares? that was effing awesome.  I wish my shots were half as good as the music was.
