After a full day of lecture/q&a style appearances, Kim Gordon, Thurston Moore and Chris Corsano took the stage at the Mill to make some pretty sweet noise. I enjoyed watching Kim and Thurston smear their guitars over various items on stage – the amps, a chair, a mic stand…at one point Kim even picked up a giant shard of wood to rub against her guitar strings. It was pretty rad. Opening for them was Stare Case, a Detroit duo that made music that cued images in my head of droney summer night drug trips. I kinda fell into a bit of a trance standing there with my eyes closed and the sound bouncing all around me. Be sorry if you missed this. Very sorry.
