Peter Woods w/ Curt Oren
Public Space One — Saturday, July 5 at 8 p.m.
Milwaukee noise-nik Peter Woods and local saxophonist with Curt Oren, will be playing at Public Space One this Saturday at 8 p.m. The show is free, though donations will be accepted. Vegetarian lasagna, prepared by Oren, will be served. What else could you ask for, really?
Woods is one of the Midwest noise scene’s hardest workers, having founded the label and production company FTAM Productions, as well as curating the Milwaukee Noise Fest.
Yet Woods is also a hyper-prolific artist, with dozens of releases on his bandcamp page, and contributing efforts to the groups xALLxFORxTHISx and the Phoned Nil Trio. Woods’ most recent release, Impure Gold, Pt. 1, is a harsh-noise masterpiece, reminiscent of the early work of Wolf Eyes. It’s intense and frightening, like the perfect soundtrack to a futuristic horror film.
The show also marks the kick-off to both Peter Wood’s and Curt Oren’s tours (although, they are not embarking on tour together). So it’d be extra nice of you to come out and wish them luck on the road.
